Hello All,
does anyone have drawings for alloy engine plates for the CB400F. I'm too cheap to buy a commercial set (call me Arkwright) so am trying to do a set myself,
Cheers, MikeJ

Why not get stock ones nickel or chrome plated? Or make some out of stainless?

Well, I don't have any plates at the moment so I might as well make some, and alloy's a bit lighter,

Unless you get the correct grade of alloy they will fret and wear even with the bolts tight

You could use a strong alloy like Duralumin if you can find some. The plates will have to be thicker than the original steel ones to get the same strength.

Hello again,
if anyone could draw around a spare plate and send me the drawing I could make an alloy version? I'd be happy to pay postage,
Cheers, MikeJ

I could easily draw round mine as I've just had them BZ plated and not fitted them yet.
I'd advise at least doubling the thickness if you're making them from standard HE 30 alloy.
PM me your address and try and do at the weekend.

Hello Dave, thanks for the offer, I'll send it a.s.a.p.
Titanium sounds posh Oddjob, but probably a bit hard to come by (and cut),
