CB500/550 / Re: Cb550 F2 Horn Mounting« on: March 29, 2026, 06:38:51 PM »
On this photo, you can see where the bracket is welded to the frame, the bracket on this one has snapped off and all that's left is the stub. It looks like yours has snapped off where it actually joins the frame.

I found this photo on tinternet, it may help. You have the bracket that's welded to the frame missing. The horn bolts to the bracket.

New Member Introductions / Re: Newbie 550f cafe/brat« on: March 27, 2026, 09:16:41 PM »Are you still riding the mongrel Julie and does Trig still ride his £1000 bike?Hi Dave Oh yes, still riding Millie, I was out on her last week, she's still so much fun to blat around on. We still have the 2 CD250u's, they are going great. I've still got the 500K1 but not got her out for a ride yet this year. Graham sold his £1000 mongrel, he's still got the CB750 K6 which is his regular rider in the summer. He also had 2 Transalp 650's, the one we toured around Europe on last summer, which I sold last week, and he has another one that we'll be riding down to Switzerland on in June this year. Graham also has a Deauville he bought as a winter hack, it does the job well around here on our muddy lanes. And those are the only bikes we have left now, I've sold everything else we had here. 9

Other Bikes / Re: Importing a bike and NOVA« on: March 25, 2026, 09:33:31 PM »
Phone the NOVA department at HMRC on 0300 322 9434. They will sort it all out. The chances are their will be nothing to pay and they'll issue the NOVA certificate.

CB350/400 / Re: How many are thete on the road« on: March 13, 2026, 06:37:18 PM »
No, those numbers are totally incorrect. There is a similar site called Howmanyleft.com, they also have incorrect figures, it does state in their disclaimer the figures are known to be incorrect when it comes to older bikes.
As an example, I personally have 289 'regular' individual buyers of 400/4 parts from my eBay page and so far this year, I've had another 32 'new' buyers of 400/4 parts. Obviously, these figures don't include owners who buy from me direct, ie, forum members, Facebook members etc either. 15
