Nice work on the clock there Dave. I had a go on my 550K3 clocks but although it was just a cosmetic job I decided it was a job for a clock restorer so the internals could be checked as well.

For what it’s worth, my opinion is the parts that I had done recently by Chromfix came home looking very smooth and blingy, nothing like the original finish which was quite rough when plated. For that reason I would try to get replacement parts. But I’m sure there must be a more sympathetic finisher out there that does plating and has a good grasp on the original look. Anybody else find this?

Vinyl in the shed! That’s what I need while the ply floor is reasonably clean still to lay on. Like the idea of the ply and carpet tile bike slider!👍😜

I had a very nice run out to the west mainland to the Brough of Birsay where the tide quite quickly floods and submerges the pathway, there’s nearly always someone that has to get the socks and shoes off to get back to safety.
Also nice visit to see a fellow SOHC member Ian.
