Hi again everyone I am expecting delivery of my 1971 CB750K1 chopper this week it is an american import and I have just noticed that there are no front indicators fitted but rear are complete are the fronts needed to get through MOT this may sound stupid but this is my first Japanese bike my other is a British classic Triton cafe racer which has none at all and passes without problem many thanks Chris

          if they are fitted they must be working front and rear,you could try it without any indicators,but its much better to fit a pair on the front has all the wiring and relay are already in place

Obviously originality is not an issue to you, so you can buy a set of 4 mini custom ones for less than a tenner, plus you already have holes in the headlight bracket to mount them from. Plus you'll have rear genuine K1 indicators and stalks to sell on, pay for the custom jobs and a few beers!

Below is a  copy of part of the testers manual, there is a link to the full manual somwhere on the site. As you will see it depends on the year of your bike but if any are fitted ALL must be fitted AND WORK
Exemptions
If direction indicators are fitted they must meet the
requirements of this inspection, but need not be fitted to a
machine which
 cannot exceed 30mph / 50kph, or
 was first used before 1 August 1986, or
 ‘off road’ motor bicycles that are designed to carry only
the rider
 ‘off road’ motor bicycles with side car designed to carry
the rider and one passenger in the side car.
‘Off road’ motor bicycles are constructed or adapted
primarily for use off road (whether by reason of its tyres,
suspension, ground clearance or otherwise).
