Quick technical question
« on: April 26, 2010, 10:08:22 AM »
When did Honda introduce the green faced instruments? My K1 has the dark face and I believe K2's did as well. Was it only the F series that had them?

Cheers

That's the thread I started to try and get an answer to a similar question.  Quite a good response.

Thanks for the link. I could not find that one on the US site, although I recall seeing some pictures of gauges in a restoration area.

I now know what I am looking for.

The UK K6 have a green back ground, all the others K0 to K5 have a dark blue back ground. Later models K4 onwards have speedometer at 10mph increments

I'm sure that my F2 clocks were a dark green...but then it has been a few years now.

CMS Have no F2 speedo's in stock, but their Site has a picture of the face of the F2 clock....& it's black....like my pals......pheww......it's bl**dy hot today with this anorak on....... ::) 8)

He tells me it's so his "clocks" can indicate the fact that his bike goes faster :-X but I don't care ;)

If his clocks were tuned like that they would be red-----or why bother to paint fire engines red

Red is the fastest colour (sorry, this is a bit of an in-joke on the Sprint site...)

I've had a quick search through my Honda 750F2 photos & the clocks are definitely dark green...

Ok....but in the 'green' stakes.....surely, there is green :-* & then there is

green :D ;D ;) un-enhanced in the back of the dark garage..... bask in the glow....are they fluo  8).....pity about the faded red :-\ but it all adds to the originality  ::)

They are different though - not better, nor worse, but different.  No KMH's on my faces....I wonder if different markets had different clocks ? There were a lot of different market versions of F1's & F2's.
