Cb400f /cb550f front mudguards
« on: November 03, 2022, 06:14:33 PM »
Hi all following my earlier beg, I’m now after a front mudguard for a 550F and one for a 400f also. I don’t care how shagged out they are I really only want them for the inner brace to manufacture my own shorter mudguards so they can be as bent twisted, rusty, painted brown I’m not bothered. I really only want them as they fit the forks.

‘Sheckles’ await anyone wanting rid of some scrap and anything considered.

Cheers all thanks for reading my badly typed begging request.

Ok, I’ll take some pics. The frame spars and fork mounting parts are first rate, but the lower 1/4 is well humped. It’s got serious panel bashing rash. I gave up and ordered a new un as it as cheaper than chroming!

Here you go. The blemishes you can see are just muck.I polished one side so you could see the difference following 30 seconds with a damp rag.

That’s not a dent at the top of the bracket by the way. It’s a curve to accommodate the fork leg. It’s symmetrical/mirrored on the opposite side.

That is absolutely the nuts for what I want. Cheers mate. It may sound gorilla tactics but if you have a grinder would you cut it away from the guard at each end and just send the centre?  I know the reader is screaming about slicing up OEM kit but as said its just the middle I need and its easier to post and cheaper too (big oop The Norvern, Tight Batards, Posse).

If not no drama, just a thought 8)

Yep, no problem. I assume you don’t need the stays?

Nope, literally just the centre that bolts onto the forks so chop it as rough as you like and if you can save the stays, hang onto them Phil, yer never know.

Roo,
Can you pm your details please? - I'll take the 400/4 bridge bracket with me when I go South and should get chance to post it.  No payment needed but a forum donation would be welcome.

Not me. Do you still need mine? It’s in three parts in the garage. The middle bit has your name on it.
