Hello,just got here,I'm into choppers,I have 3 cb 750 four engines,1 x 1970,2 x 1978,one being a k7,one a 750 F1.
I have 2 old chopper plunger frames from the 1970's,Amen Savior.I will be building them into choppers as time will
allow, using period correct or back in the day parts from the 1970's.I am also handy with a welder,as this was my occupation for around 30 years, bit rusty now,as not done it for around 8 years, but I guess with a bit of practise I
would be ok,still have a 160 A Mig set up if needed.

Hello mate!

Put your location in your profile - it'll stop all those "where are you?" questions.

Yes the motor was black, but not sure if it had been 'painted up' black.I'd need to dig out the engine number.

Hi Stinking Hippy, do you have any bikes on the road,
i have always wanted to build a chopper, infact i have a project on the go at the moment which is a Kawasaki klr600 which is being made into a custom style chopper, not the usual but at least it will be unique, and has a great noisey single cylinder engine with lots of grunt

Hi, which bit of Shropshire are you in? I'm not so far from bits of it being in Powys, I had a 550/4 chop many years ago but it never got finished properly - someone elses choices in how to do the frames etc - Personally after a fair bit of thinking on it I decided to get shot as it was someone elses welding and not entierly stright. I still have the battery and lecky box and a 15 inch respoked wheel leftover from it using stock hub, interestingly it had it's drum re lined and I copied this job when re lining my own rear hubs. I'll be interested to see what you come up with, customs are nice to see, I have a soft spot for 70's ones.
Got a 500/4 with rust and a sidecar and loadsa bits. nice and original and been round the clock

Hi Pete, yes I have a chop on the road but its not a honda, but I've always liked the honda cb 750 sohc,
from way back in 1973 while I was on holiday in Austria,a couple of lads had one each, one in the gold
colour, and the other in blue.I said I'd get one of them someday, but I have diverted down the chopper route, the old american streetchoppers of the seventies with the amen savior plunger frames, springer
forks,king and queen seats,4 into 2 turnout pipes,santee electrics boxes,and I also have a Russ Collins
ARD magneto, which I will be fitting to one of the two choppers I will be building, both choppers will be
running the amen savior frames, one I got over here, the other came from the states, both have got amen
savior oil tanks, both have 'period' coffin/prism style tanks, and both will be running original cb 750 drum
rear brakes, and t500 twin leading shoe front drum brakes.I am just amassing parts at present, both frames are being worked on at the moment, one's pretty good, the one from the US,but the one from over here has had to have some tubing replaced.

Hi Matthewmosse,
I'm near Market Drayton,so 14 miles from the welsh border, depending which route you take.
With the chops I will be building, they will both be 1970's,using all the older stuff as seen in 'Streetchopper' magazine, from the 'Amen Savior'plunger frames, springer forks, etc, etc. If you read my previous post most of the information is in there,I dont get a great deal of freetime, but I'll do what I can,
but I also have a very good friend who's an all round good engineer, tig welder, and machinist, and I also
have a great set of friends in the US,which is a very good source of old chopper parts, also US Ebay is
good for getting parts, and also craigslist.

Cool, souds like it's going to be a couple of really nice bikes, I find ammassing the right parts can take a while but I recon it can be worth it.

Its a great 'buzz' shopping around for 'old vintage parts' but as you gain more knowledge of what you
want,it all the better.I would love to get hold of a 'Denvers Chopper' but these are very, very rare, and
very expensive, but I am happy enough with what I have,as Amen Savior stuff is pretty rare too.A lot
of it is near on 40 years old as is the original cb 750 are in their own right.

I'm not really a chopper fan but this CB750 chop was on show at my local show a few years ago and I had to take a photo of the workmanship!

Wow oddjob say it as you see it LOL,
I love the look of 70's choppers and have secretly craved for one for years, however i also have desired a cafe racer for years, now i have 2 ,and to be honest find riding them hard work, i fear that might be the case for choppers, so the one i am building is on motocross suspension, and is the most comfortable thing i have ever sat on, but it is certainly not traditional chopper style, i will dig out all the crap off it and post up a picture, even though its not honda
