motad exhaust fitting
« on: May 19, 2014, 02:57:57 PM »
fitting this motad until I find last part of my 4 into 4

Instructions on this don't match up with headers I have

instructions fit Q1M5H to port 1, there is no header pipe with that marking , all the pipes are marked M54-1S up to M54-4S

anyone came up against this before, thought it would be a simple job to fit these

tried fitting 1 and 3 first and then silencer but the last pipe is and inch out, no 2 cylinder the one you use the bolt to nip up the pipe with does not reach

Thanks

mike

just fit 1s-4s left to right. The end of the pipes should all be the same length. Fit the silencer last.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Set/sit. Bought/brought FFS. Bloody Americans.

I have tried it 2 ways fitting 1-4 headers and then the silence........  also 1 and 3 as in their instructions then silencer and then pipes 2 and 4, pipe 2 seems to come up short ? by a good inch ?

I've seen this on the US site. Get in touch with Motad.

when I had a motad I fitted all the downpipes first, then whacked the silencer on with a stout piece of wood.

thought about that... not sure how deep the pipes go in but when there all fitted at silencer end they are all different lengths

maybe that's what it needs mate a good whack to get the silencer on  :)

Well Mr. Cynical.  ;D Thank goodness someone actually makes a decent system at an affordable price.

;D I know where bitsa is coming from but originals are not only expensive but hard to get, I have 3 out of the 4 originals

I know dave silvers are now doing 4 into 4 but there still repros and no reviews as of yet

so motad, yes not a great fit but whats the alternative ?

800 plus vat for  repro set or wait a few years to get originals ( if they turn up )

4 kids here and a mortage and hours cut to 24...... priorities have kicked in
