100mph speedo mystery
« on: December 22, 2014, 03:41:25 PM »
Hi. When I bought my Cb500/4 it had a 350/4 tacho fitted and this mystery speedo. Can anyone help me work out what it's for? It's in vgc and it would help me to advertise it correctly.

Given the way they used to hype up these things, it's probably off an SS50!
About the same time the Yanks were putting 85mph speedos on CBXs.

I don't think you're far off! I'm thinking maybe a 125. Even the 175s seem to go to 110!

It is from a CB250 early type. The later ones went up to 110MPH.

It is a strange clock Bitsa because most small bikes never had the trip counter. There is another clock like this on fleabay but, they have it listed as CB250N / 400N which is wrong.

Ash has so many clocks and can't remember. CB175 has 110mph but, it will never do that ;)
