Don't want to hijack thread here but there is some relevance. The Green tank on the 500K0 I just bought is disgusting inside. I got a another one with the bike that's squeaky clean inside (has a small dent on top). The spare tank  (CB550??) is Flake Sunrise Orange and it looks the same shape as the Candy Jet Green K0 but I don't have the pair here to compare. Can anyone tell me if the shape is the exactly same ?  I want to get a tank and panels off to Menno ASAP. If not he may be able to do his magic on the original tank

BTW I stripped an area around the pinstriping to reveal the original orange looking unfaded... man what a stunning colour that is.

The only difference I know of on the 500 tanks is that some later US 550's had a screwed outlet on the tank instead of the two screws though the tap. The ones with the screwed boss are difficult to get taps for as its not the same size as the 750. So as long as you have the slot and two threaded holes for the petrol tap you are good to go mate

The stamped in carbnumbers are a bit difficult to detect.
Yeah...especially with decades of grime on...  ;)

The picture below shows where to look.
Yep, emphatic wipe with a gloved thumb made it...

Yours probably will be 649A like mine.
Correct again... so a K2 it is (as are the other 3 carbs in my possession...)
Seems I'm OK to go for the PB-3C-C Candy Sapphire Blue then...

Different issue arising though:
Where to find the side cover badges?

Went crazy on the usual suspects like eBay and such, but no luck yet...

Yes, for K0, K1 & K2 normally the P/N 87124-323-000 comes up, which is the "classical", detached lettering design...

The badge in question is P/N 87124-323-610, and every search on this unfortunately draws a [discontinued]...

By the amount of spares (not) floating around, the K2 seems generally pretty rare... (or not rare enough yet, so no one bothers to make/collect/sell stuff...)
Like that I cannot find any traces of that 2-piece rear fender (upper half chrome, tail section black plastic); hopefully parts from the 550 will fit...

PO contacted me, he claims having unearthed more parts for the two bikes; will rush there tomorrow to collect them and also inquire some details...
