All I can add is NEVER buy a bike in boxes to restore unless you know the the seller / bike. I did this years ago and found out (to the detriment of my wallet) how hard it was to rebuild.

I would never buy a bike in boxes.............. :-[ :-[ :-[ ::) :o
that makes two of us then 😁

Kitty turned 3000 miles whilst out today. Not bad in 2 years considering I do similar mileage on Milly the 550 Mongrel and the same on my CD250u ☺️☺️☺️

looks like I’ve got some catching up to do

Don't know where you sourced one of those bad boys from Simon but well done for finding it. The donor for my 500 was a written off blue 550F2, my mate had the maroon one and I really liked that colour as well.

Nice example, very clean and a credit to you.
wish I could take the credit for it but it’s one of grahams master pieces all I’ve done is swapped the stainless motad and put a few miles on it really love riding it

Managed to get a decent genuine exhaust for my f2 not that there was anything wrong with the stainless motad but I think this just finishes off nicely what was already a cracking bike thanks Trigg and Dave

I’ve fitted these seals to my 550 they’re 13mm deep instead of 11mm so fills that gap up by another 2mm

The listing does not give much detail are they double lipped with the springs fitted top & bottom?
not sure what you mean by spring top and bottom but they were the same as the old ones I took out apart from the extra 2mm in depth
The OEM seals are double spring. A dust spring on the top side and the oil spring on the underside.
oh I see never too old to learn 🤓
