In that cas the fuse box itself is suspect as the clips get warm, loose tension on the fuse end, get warmer still, melt the plastic and even the solder connections.
Also ignition switches have been known to give intermittent contact 18

It shouldnt, the only connection is through the small red wire from terminal with battery cable to fuse

Yes they are pressed on, is the bike going to be a daily driver high mileage or an ocasional weekend use?
If 1 i would pay out If 29 i would put engine oil in them and if smooth and quietish use them as if it dont work you only need lower case off to replace and your time 22

Thats the big difference mate, old british iron was designed for ocasional sniff of the red but japanese was built to have its neck wrung, can remember the exact wording but the 500 owners handbook says it is fine to go into the red but not out of the top for extended periods!

Honda part numbers are not complicate, the first numbers tell you what it is, the middle three what model first used on last three manufacturer or country code or supercision code so 283 is the model code you need, the supplier said sounds like 280 which is different

The Black Bomber Board / Re: 67` Bomber running problems« on: May 20, 2024, 10:13:57 PM »
Part number is 41201283000 so i would say 283 not 280 but that is a pure guess
