 You haven't said what the diameter of the collector box exit pipe is. If your new silencer will fit tightly over it then use exhaust sealing paste and a clamp.

Used to pop the bike chains the oven in a tin of that solid chain lube. Wife couldn't complain as one of them came off her bike.

According to the DLVA my 400/4  LLF 815P is under SORN somewhere and was last recorded in 2016. Maybe still alive after 40 years!
