Hi All,
Just taken the screw and bolt out of the speedo take off point on the rocker cover. You've guessed, its broken and has been for some time. Does anyone have the part Number and a possible source to get one from? TIA Bill W.

These get broken when someone uses a impact on the JIS screw to try to get them out. Now Bill, are you sitting down with a big stiff drink >>>>

Its not a speedo, its a tacho drive

Ouch! Those cost nearly what I was used to paying for a scrap engine. Surely it's possible to weld the tang back on and grind the weld back to profile? These bikes used to be cheap to run.

Hi Trigger,
As you rightly say it is the Tacho take off from the Rocker cover. Speedo from front hub.
They are quite pricey (picks self up from floor)
Cheers

I know I have at least 1 spare that's in completely the wrong shed for bike bits, I keep seeing it when I dont want it but then forgetting where it is when I want it.

Hi Oddjob,
Yes, it is the lug that is broken where the JIS Screw goes through. Looks like it has been over tightened.
If you can find where you put the one you have seen, I would gladly have it off you, no real rush, this is a long term project.
If anyone else finds one, let me know.
Thanks
Bill W.

Hi All,
Still looking for the Tacho take off point that bolts and screws to the rocker cover.
Anyone got one, new or used.

Sorry Bill afraid that is so rare now you may have to bite the bullet and pay DS a fortune, in his defence it is a relatively complicated casting with a lot of machining for a small sales quantity

Hi Seabeowner,
Just checked a second engine I am sorting. That has the tacho housing missing. How much for yours please. How do you want paying?
