Stunning bike Ted with your own personal touches there. Lovely work, looking forward to hearing how you get on with the shake down. It’s very clean wouldn’t look out of place in the house somewhere if your short on room? You’d probably have to move out though! 🤣

Reminds me back in the day before we became such a woke society when tobacco company’s were advertising on the TV, was thinking of Ted having a “Condor Moment” 😂

First shake down ride today only 1.6 miles on the estate at the back then a short distance onto the nearest main road.
Firstly the bike felt really comfortable following issues need looking at before I do a longer run.

1. Clutch cable was adjusted a few yards up the road - still needs some fine tuning/adjustment.
2. Gear lever needs moving anti-clockwise on the spindle as first gear is too close to horizontal.(1or2 splines)
3. Front brake certainly needs some bedding in as it did not feel as good as my 400. (same Brembo Pads).
4. Rear brake need some adjustment as a tad too much movement before they start to bite.
5. Neutral light illuminated sometimes when in third gear I think it was, fine when in first or second.(might the LED bulb)
6. I messed with the main idle thumb screw as the idle seemed too low after adjusting the clutch, I kept on having to screw the adjuster down to maintain tickover - I then realised the Petcock was off! Just need to put it back where it was.
7. The centre stand is just touching the outer silencer where the recess is. Easiest fix will be fitting a fatter bump rubber on the silencer bracket. Now I think I know what that odd spare  grommet was in the fitting kit.(I fitted - square thin one).

In the circumstances not too bad for the first run on the road - it's certainly a different bike to the 400 in a few areas.
I still like my 400 but for different reasons.

Well done Ted, nice to hear its going ok, is it the floor foot of the stand or the leg you push on that hits? Clutch cables are always finicky, i take it you got grease into the swing arm

PS you aint the first nor wont be the last to forget to turn the petrol on! (Tee shirt, video, sing song)

It's the leg just needs a slightly thicker stopper as the curved bit is just touching the rebate in the silencer.
Managed to get some grease through - more to follow.

Could easily have been slightly bent in an off Ted, extra washer is easiest fix

Good results for a 1st shakedown run Ted. My 400 Ratty project refused to even start on Thursday for it's first shakedown run. It was out with the plugs, check for sparks (all ok), check ignition timing (all OK) and then I found no.2 and no 3 cylinders are not getting any fuel. It's going to be another carbs off job for sure😠

Good man Ted, that sounds a dream of a first run, that’s nothing to get over, great work mate, still waiting for my seat to be finished as I had an alteration to do on it so had to have it changed.
