Why do I bother?

Thank you for reaching out, your call is important to us, Blah, Blah, Blah, it's just corporate BS >:(
I've reported scammers to eBay previously and didn't even receive a response. I purchased a book recently, it never arrived despite the seller stating they had been sent as tracked (but didn't provide a tracking number?). Seller failed to respond to four messages and it took me three attempts taking my complaint to eBay before it was resolved and I got my money back.
I heard someone describing eBay recently as the 'Devils Market' ;D

M&P on eBay are advertising Hiflo filters for my Guzzi and send out filters made by the European filter corporation. I wouldn't mind if they told me.
I keep getting people sending one of something when the adds are set up in such a way to convince you there's more than one as well.
Is it just me every time I search on eBay I get a very limited amount of adds come up?

So many problems with eBay now, guys in the CBX club report obvious scams all the time but nothing is ever done about them. Also so much fake stuff on there.  It’s a shame they have let it get like this it used to be such a good source of parts and consumables.

When my car was broken into and my specialist tools for work stolen, they appeared on EBay.
Police and EBay not interested, and the seller basically laughed at me when I messaged him.
Tools in the pictures still clearly had my name on them.

That's a dreadful Police response or just a bone idle officer(s).
Easy enough for the Police to carry out a plain clothes test purchase plus check sellers history.
Arrange to view the goods if possible, arrest suspect, Sect18 PACE search of address then probably recover loads of stolen property. Basic policing imho but the Police Force sorry Police Service is not what it was.

Not sure if e-bay would play ball as I've been retired 21 years so no idea if the internet is policed in that area.

Apparently to report stolen items on EBay you have to be a law enforcement officer. So EBay weren’t interested in what I had to say and the Police didn’t want to know.

Same as when I was the victim of a hit and run, I got the registration of the van. Police sent him the notification requesting the driver at the time. He ignored the letter so they dropped the case.

2 miles over the speed limit though……..

When I worked in prosecutions back in the early 1990s if the registered keeper did not respond to naming the driver we would prosecute them be they an individual or a company for failing to disclose the details of the driver. You hit a dead end if the car had no current keeper or if the registered keeper could not be traced. e.g. Vehicle bought for cash at auction using false details. Likewise vehicles registered to Gypsy/Travelers sites in Sheffield or Romford.
