It's been a Shite yesr

Some of you have expressed condolances for the loss of my sister and to those thank you deeply, this is just the latest thing.
Late last year i had to give in to the shoulder arther and swop from driving to siting in security hut, substantial pay cut but still earning.
January 16th(my birthday) my brother in law died unexpectedly at the age of 88 having been married to my sister for 69 years.
Then my sister was hospitalised with heart valve problem and passed on April 24th(3 days after my weeding aniversary).
I feel for my two nephews and their 29 year old kids who were raised a lot by their gran, my sister, as they have lost doth dad(grandad) and mum(gran) within 3 months.
As the 71 yr old yougest of 5 with 2 now gone it feels like that cliff we all fall of is getting closer all the time.
My best to all on the forum and appologies for the grumps

With all that going on a grump is a perfectly normal reaction, so don't worry about it.
It's a lot to take in and will take time for the pain to fade.

All the best mate, us blokes find it hard to share these feelings, sometimes it's easier on a forum like this. Take care mate.

I'm sorry to read about the loss of your sister and other family bereavements Bryan you have my deepest sympathy/empathy.
I know you are younger than me but sadly I suspect it's what the future holds for those of us lucky enough to still be around.
The days of Weddings & Christenings seem to become outnumbered by Funerals not to mention ill health encroaching on friends & family members.
In the last five years I've tried to be more pragmatic about life in general often smiling about stuff like "Looking on the bright side of Life" counting my blessings etc. I have no religous beliefs to fall back on for support when things become heavy, I'm fortunate enough to have a few close long standing friends.
There is something quite cathartic and supportive about sharing with virtual friends when we go through tough times to know you are not alone.

All the best Bryan. This forum is a great place to offload when that's what you need. A very tough year for you and your family so I hope and I hope things look up as the summer progresses.

Sorry to hear you are understandably down at this time Bryan.
Many of us heading for the cliff, but look inland and hope you will find solace in another direction.
I sure you get satisfaction helping online mates here.
It's over 20 years since I went online looking for advice and you were there back then. Can't remember how I found you but it was before this forum I'm sure. Keep on keeping on.

Best wishes to you Bryan in what has undoubtedly been a very tough time. As stated in other posts, this forum really is the best place to let off a bit of steam, we are all life experienced and fully understand the crap life can throw at us. Hopefully all the bad news is now behind you. Thank you again for all the help and advice you have given not only to me but also to everyone else on the forum.
Hopefully the sun will shine on you all from now on.

Bryan that’s a bloody raw deal you have been dealt with in terms of your family etc, but it’s testament to you for your unwavered and continued assistance through the forum to assist people with comparably trivial problems. Well done for that and all the best mate!

Life throws these curved balls at you Bryan and the older you get they come more frequently. Really feel for you mate and it goes without saying that everyone on here has benefited from your knowledge and generosity, for all the time I have been on here and on the USA forum too. Lets hope it gets a bit better for you from now on.
I know you have had a financial hit with the new job and it may be a bit boring at times for you but I bet it's going to be better for your long term health .. I couldn't imagine doing any full time driving job at my age and I have always been in awe of anyone who drives a big truck for a living....particularly with modern traffic and some of the idiots you encounter.
