Holidaying in France just now and saw this little beauty in St Nazaire. Lovely two-stroke smell when it pottered off shortly afterwards.

They are really nice old school bikes.
I nearly bought one brand new in 1981, a TS250 Supa 5 from Geoff Dodkin Motorcycles in East Sheen (it was that or a CZ250 Custom). Alas my mum wouldn't sign the hp papers.
A mate of mine had one though, a blue one, he got chased by a big dog, fell off it and sold it!

..and today's French 'spot' is a Velox & sidecar... It's condition actually looks quite new, so could be some sort of modern-retro thingy...   It has a number plate so must be road-legal (or lethal)..

They are sooo slow as a single and the owner has attached a sidecar to knock the performance off it. It really would be quicker (and safer) to walk. Lovely looking outfit though 🙂👍

All alone on Blackheath at the tea hut, but not that alone either, in the background a very ill looking crow that I came to photograph for opinion gathering. If it is what I think it is I'll build up some confidence in him and treat it!

France just keeps on giving..  I was out for a drive today and spotted these in a local garage, and they kindly let me photograph them. The Flandria (Belgian, apparently, but a new one to me) was my pick of the bunch ...close up is of it's engine, which had a cover over the fins, which seemed to negate having cooling fins to start with!

The Flandria has a intake to fan on opposite side, that to blow air across the cylinder from left to right when sitting on it .... the cowel keeping the air in contact with fins. Probably quite effective.

It really is a little hair-dryer then! It looked fab though, really nicely restored.

Regarding the interesting bikes, there are also lots of cracking older and old/ restored cars..the sun must be bringing them out. This beauty was in the carpark when I pulled up to photograph the Flandria.
