Bonhams Auction Stafford
« on: August 14, 2023, 06:14:25 PM »
Just wondering if anyone has used Bonhams Auction at Stafford to sell a bike. If so, what was the service like, and did you get a good price. Also, anyone know what the catalogue price is to get in for autumn 2023, they seem a little bit coy about advertising the price for some reason (can't be free with the show ticket surely).
Current bikes:

No. Last time I  went to Stafford it was £10 catalogue for entry. Kept out the riff-raff like me.
Probably gone up in the last few years. ☹️

Thanks, that's probably why they are a bit shy putting the price on the website.

About 5 years ago the Catalogue was £25 Roy. Allows entry of purchaser of catalogue and one other.

Good point, I read it as the ones fitted as it had been an unfinished project.

OK lets get picky.
1 ignition switch in wrong place
2 grab rail wrong
3 rear indicator mounts wrong
4 no stickers under the side panel badges
5 not that early, they started April 71
6 wrong master cylinder
7 wire outside on rh handlebar

And that is just a couple of minutes looking

Regarding the Bonhams Auctions Roy......I'd be more concerned at their Fees......

What bike from your lovely stable are you thinking of selling - as you might get a fair offer from a forum Member.....by the time Buyers and Sellers Fees have been factored in, you might not be any worse off selling privately.
Now: 2008 CB1300S, CB750K4, 1970 Bonneville. Various other 1960's 650 Triumph T120's/ TR6's/ TR6C's (all in bits...many, many bits unfortunately). Previous: 2007 CB600FA, 1976 CB500 Four. BMW F800ST. GS750E. ZZR1100. CB1300 (2). ZXR1200S. VFR800. CB750 Nighthawk. CX500. XS500 Yam. Suzuki GT500. BSA A10. Various Lambrettas. Zundapp Bella (honest).

I can't see the wire outside the bars R/H Bryan.

I spotted a few things.

Claims matching numbers but they ain't. Might be original numbers but certainly don't match.
Seat is far more ripped than they state.
Side panel badges are aftermarket.
Chrome trim missing from tank
Candy Gold was K1 colour not K0, should be Starlight Gold.
Allen keys fitted to cases.
649A carbs fitted, can't remember seeing them before, maybe it's correct for USA though.
Seem to recall the grips being much more spiky, I remember they hurt your hands with no gloves.

Ultra picky.

Wrong plug caps.
Wrong fuel pipe.
Front mudguard damaged on the very front edge

The seat cover for the K0 was different from the K1 and the K2 Jezza.
Kids in a the back seat cause accidents.
Accidents in the back seat cause kids.

Correct seat and seat pattern for a 500 K0, it should have a little sticker on the bottom or the side of the seat pan, if original  :)

They have Bryan even picked up some of my wiring colours in my headlamp bowl as being potentially wrongly connected!
Honda CB500 K1 (new pit dug out ready)
