CB750 / Sammy Miller jap Sat 2nd June.
« on: May 28, 2018, 08:17:56 AM »
Can't find my original post regarding this! Doh...
Anyway, just a quick reminder that the classic jap day at Sammy Millers, that Steph and myself organise  along with sponsorship by the VJMC, is taking place this Sat, 2nd June. I've been training guys up at work and been snowed under, so, hence the late reminder. It's been on Steph's Face book etc and other sites of course.
I've posted tips in the 750 section but would be grateful if a moderator and others could pass the word around in other sections?  It was great seeing whole bunch of you down guys here a couple of years ago. Is anyone going this year? I know it's a bloody long way to the New Forest though!
We. Oils plan a run the next day if so? :D

CB750 / Engine and frame no's
« on: August 16, 2017, 10:30:37 AM »
Hi guys,
Although I found the old thread topic on this, 1, it's more then 120 days old and 2, it doesn't quite answer my question. The site recommends I start a new thread again.
Bit confused on a K2 I'm looking at. Anyway the numbers are :frame 2074937 and engine 2049772. I've been doing some research and it seems possible to have numbers out (although still in the K2 era) as much as a few thousand. In this case probably around 2 - 4 months apart. I've had a K0 and I have a K3 presently (returned to UK spec) and the numbers in both of these were/are much closer as many of your threads confirm previously with theirs. Any thoughts? What if you were looking to buy this bike? the V5 confirms these numbers.
Finally the MOT history contradicts the reg date claimed by the present owner, DVLA : July 1971 owner/V5 March 1974, in Scarborough. Do they make mistakes? Anyone come across this?
  Thanks, Nigel.

CB750 / Fitting of the tanks lower trims.
« on: April 17, 2015, 05:00:51 PM »
Hi all.
Need your help again! Has anyone any experience of fitting the lower tanks trims? I see that my K0 has a unique part number. Are they different from K1/2/3/4's? I just can't work out how these trims are able fit into the 4 welded slots at the base of the tank? They face outwards. (It would work if they face vertically downwards) The trims I have supplied from Germany have a sever 'U' shape and just won't even look at these slots. I need a trim that has a sort of 90 degree angle to slide into these slots and then we may a flush fit? I have left them in boiling hot water and still do not become pliable. My last piece after a 2 year ongoing restoration and still the old girls baffles me! Thanks for any advice once again guys.

CB750 / Float bowl gasket. A cry for help!
« on: April 04, 2015, 05:15:51 PM »
Hi guys,
Just run up my 750 K0 after balance and Winter hibernation and no3 carb leaks extensively. Carbs were kept dry over Winter for obvious reasons. On inspection the rubber Gasket has been been compressed unevenly in one spot and will never seal again. Engine and carbs running sweetly.
I am (was?) hoping to ride out on a local jap run over the Sun/Mon and wondered if anyone has a spare gasket that fits the K series carbs and lives quite close to Ringwood, Bouremouth in order I can steal one? Are they are all common size? Even the F1/2's? Pain all this...😡 or is there a way of sealing this using the original rubber of which 10% of the groove is now compressed? Thanks.

CB750 / Tank badges
« on: March 15, 2015, 07:56:47 AM »
Hi guys.
Tried to find a similar thread on this and forgive me for repeating a topic possibly. I've just taken delivery of my 750 K0 tank from Dream machines, now in it's final stage of restoration and I have to find a way of attaching the tank badges on the tank as the pins, as usual, have broken. What have you guys done to resolve the problem? I may well go down the line of gluing them on but NOT with a super glue type!! I may well have to get these badges off again and don't want to destroy the paint in the process! This also applies to the side panel badges which still have the original  I am considering using Silicon (black), then to gently pick away the excess around the edges?
What are your experiences or thoughts? Cheers.

CB750 / Winter storage for our lovely 750's (and others!)
« on: January 11, 2015, 05:55:13 PM »
Hi Guys,
I'm curious as to how you guys and girls semi inhibit/store/care for your 750's over the Winter?
My own bikes, all Vintage Honda's, are stored in a heated garage and are NOT ridden during Winter due to salt and general Shite on the roads. I don't run the engines. The tanks are drained and the carbs run dry. I only turn the engine over by kicking her over around half a dozen times once a month in order to reduce 'ring line' on the bore. This is for around 5 months. I am rather against running them up to running temp then simply putting them back into the garage with condensation in the exhausts and oil.
Wondered what you guys do? This was a discussion the other evening - sadly we just talk about vintage riding over Winter.  All bikes a well ridden in Spring - Autumn. But need to emigrate!😢

CB750 / K0 Handlebar switch, rightside.
« on: January 02, 2015, 06:25:19 PM »
Happy New Year all! :D
This is (I hope!!) my final problem with my K0.. the previous 'experts' fitted this switch to the bike before I bought it and, although it works fine, I'm trying to fathom out what model this switch is from?? I know the kill switch should be black (more sleek) and the headlight switch should be without the parking light (which stays on regardless with the tail light off.) but I have checked the CMS website and they offer a RED kill switch.. Silver looks correct. I've looked at most 750 models and just can't mate up the same layout anywhere, including the F1's? Before I go ahead and put another 'wrong/right' on this bike I just wanted to check.
Any thoughts? Is this difficult to change over? All four slides are now exactly seating right and I'd be gutted to disturb the settings at this throttle end? Cheers,
  Nige.

CB750 / K0 forks/rebound
« on: December 18, 2014, 02:07:57 PM »
Hi all.
Seal went. Fitting new seals both side (to be cautious) and replacing one inner tube/stanchion as the burgh is too deep.
So What stops the the whole leg falling off if one lifts the front of the bike of the ground without the pads and front brake in place??
Is there reasonable rebound in this early design?? I notice the K2/3 onwards is a different system internally - even has a screw at the base the of the fork. Looks like a better design as Honda moves onwards and upwards? I've been riding her for over a year and apart from the usual rear end wobble when cornering fast on uneven surface, common with early largish Honda's, I haven't noticed anything untoward..😳
I see some guys have used K3 outers and still used the K0 internals but with welding the cup to the spacer as K0 forks are difficult to obtain. Intrigued.... 😯

CB750 / CB750K0 Inlet manifold rubbers
« on: June 18, 2014, 11:45:23 AM »
Hi all,

The saga continues with my 1970 750k0. I am having problems with the inlet manifold rubbers - is there a particular technique for getting them to fit far enough over the studs to create a seal? I have pushed them on as far as I could but cannot get rid of the air leaks.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

CB750 / 750 meet up in local area?
« on: May 28, 2014, 01:41:02 PM »
Hi guys n girls.
I have a K0 on the road (at last!) and wondered if any other 750's meet up around the West of Hants or East Dorset? A pub rather than Poole Quay which can be very busy is preferable, although Poole Quay is doable? I rarely see 750's down this way and often ride out around the New Forest and beyond (including 'Loomies') without spotting one. Particularly K0/K1's?

  Just a thought? Nige. (Ringwood)
