CB500/550 / Warning lights(I refuse to call these idiot lights)
« on: April 03, 2013, 08:23:47 PM »
Hi Guys,
Picked this up at a local bike bootfair but did not realise I think is for a 500/4 am I right?Yes I know I can change the jewel layout and  fit a new decal but before I do this is it of any use to all members?Prepared to sell or willing to swap for a 750 one.Over to you guys. The reason for not calling them idiot lights is because over the years I have watched people carry on riding with disastrous results. In 1976 at midnight my oil light came on.As a mechanic I stopped dead took out the filler cap and with the aid of a fag lighter revved the crap and saw oil returning and thinking what the shit guaranteed rode her home.Turned out to be a dodgy oil pressure switch. So no they are not idiot lights Honda put them there for a reason.

CB750 / Primary drive srocket
« on: March 28, 2013, 07:28:47 PM »
Hi Guys
Going on further about this sprocket that I ignored most of my life until now albeit discontinued can anyone tell me why the part number for a k2 is different to a k6? Thought they were all the same and the price if found almost doubled.Wtf is different or am I missing something?

CB750 / Primary drive rubbers
« on: March 28, 2013, 11:03:35 AM »
Hi Guys,
A little while ago one of our members wrote about the rubbers in the primary drive gear ending up breaking into bits and could lead to other problems.I personally have never seen so much crap on the oil pump filter.Could anybody say what the symptoms it would cause bad vibration etc. This only came to mind while surfing eBay see http://www.eBay.de/itm/Primarruckdampfer-Honda-CB-750-Four-Motor-Getriebe-CB-500-550-Four-/221206209764?pt=Motorrad_Kraftradteile&hash=item3380eae4e4.You may have to copy and paste to see.
Also could this be mistaken for knackered chain guides rollers etc if you do not know about this.Would like to hear your comments.Cheers

Hi Guys,
Does any body recognise this rear arm.Its not 750 as it is shorter than mine.I think it could be 400/4 and the bolt is 6mm not 8.
Over to you guys.

Other Bikes / new cb1100
« on: January 31, 2013, 07:07:48 PM »
Hi Guys,
My local rag is very excited about the new CB1100.Modelled on old and new, looks to me like a CB900 but with retro styling. It is on the Honda UK site but not here in France yet .Anybody heard anything? The pics on the Honda site look good but I see f2 front end 900 engine, shiny 4 into 1 exhaust and some 70s bits.Like I said any words about circulating on this?

CB750 / Rockerbox Gasket
« on: December 28, 2012, 12:57:19 PM »
Hi Guys,
All your experiences wanted.I have a tiny dribble of oil leaking out between pots 2 and 3.When I rebuilt it I used all genuine gaskets and have never had leaks must be lucky but I have only ever had leaks using pattern ones.I stripped it down again checked all the bolt holes for leaks as I know PO helicoiled 1 cam cap bolt and drilled too far and came out in the cavity above the spark plug which dribbled last time. All seems fine the pucks are dry but the only oil I could see was from the rocker gasket. It was not soaking wet but looked like the same as the head gaskets used to weep.I do have another Honda one but before I  fit it what I am asking for is has anybody goo ed it before?I have never had to before but I do not want to do this again. On the pics it is just behind the front 6mm head bolt.On the head the oil settled on the fin level with the exhaust flange screws.
Thanks

CB750 / cb750 front axle nuts
« on: November 29, 2012, 01:54:52 PM »
Hi Guys
May have this wrong but I have got it in my head that the 4 nuts that hold the front axle caps were 8m and 12 m spanner size and were also shiny/Today I ordered 4 new ones part 9403008000 and they are dark coloured and 14 m spanner size.Is this the norm I was convinced they should be 12 and shiny.
