The plan is not to go mad but to clean and tidy it to a roadworthy condition...and maybe give it a light cafe racer makeover.
Oxymoron? Welcome by the way. Where are you? Put location in your profile and it will stop all the others asking! Steve

Welcome Sandy.
Nice selection of bikes you have there. Which is your favourite?
The Tiger 1050 is the only bike that I have ever ridden (in 35-odd years) where I couldn't get both feet flat on the ground!

Hi and welsome (back)
That's a UK CB550K3 from 78/79 (I had a couple of them)
The K3 was different as it was the only UK 550 with 4-4 pipes (the F1 and F2 had 4-1) and also had lean-burn carbs and different emmissions plumbing.

If it is slow to come back on (when you stop the engine), that's surely a sign of a good engine!

Very rare to be the piston.
You need to strip it down and clean it.
Once done, it should be fairly easy to push the piston in by hand.

My thoughts too. Broken switch or wiring. I've seen a few broken oil pressure switches in my time. They leak and the oil pressurises both sides - hence no measurement!

With modern Fi bikes, take your hand off the throttle to wave and it's like hitting the brakes on one of the old SOHCs!
I nod and get a response from most - even scooters.
It's a lot easier on the continent where they wave with the left hand...
I've also seen the raised right leg quite a lot - but if a motorist moves over, I try to wave a thank you rather than wave a leg - who knows what they'd think I was trying to do...

They'd better bloody work after putting all that effort into them! That paint is petrol-proof isn't it ?

There are spoke suppliers in Mechanics magazine.
The first one that springs to mind is Hagons - I've seen their work.

The ultrasound causes cavitation (tiny bubbles) in the cleaning fluid, that literally vibrate the dirt off.
My mate has one - about the size of a large lunchbox and used for cleaning the valves in his sub-aqua kit.
It is also big enough for a single carb.
